Letter From Sarah L. Stone - Board Chair

Hello to each of you! Whether you're a longtime supporter or just discovering what we do, welcome to our vibrant community! At EmpowHERment, we believe that when women come together, magic happens.

I always love these last 4 months of the year, we are able to look back at what plans have come to fruition, and there is still time to make any adjustments and reflect, as well as wrap up the open ends and take a well deserved break at the end of the year.

For EmpowHERment, now through Nov 16th is focused on our year end fundraiser "HER Gala" - All the full days, scheduling, planning, making introductory phone calls and zoom meetings, strategizing and engaging in the community are with a single main goal in mind - for a successful event that means everything (mostly) went to plan, our messages were shared, the awareness was increased, we raised our financial goals and are able to facilitate the comings years plans as expected.

The EmpowHERment Community Center is an essential space where connection, empowerment, change and growth take root. We offer a haven for women to support one another, share experiences, and build the confidence to pursue their dreams. At EmpowHERment, we are proud of the diversity within our organization, embracing women from all walks of life, ensuring that all voices are heard, and making space for everyone, no matter their background or journey. Our work is far from over, and we recognize there’s always more to do. We welcome every woman to pull up a chair at any table where decisions are made, dreams are realized, and futures are built—because together, we create a stronger, more inclusive community.

As the Board Chair for the past six months, and having been with EmpowHERment for several years prior, I’ve come to appreciate just how essential our connections and relationships are. However, I also realize there are still many of you I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting or speaking with yet! To truly grow and ensure representation across all areas, it’s vital that we continue to strengthen our communication and collaboration. To that point, I would love to hear from you, understand and hear your ideas, and explore how we can work together to continue the important work we’re doing. We are here for the long term and hope to be able to build deeper, stronger relationships.

I also want to share some of the developments within EmpowHERment - We have had a challenging but positive year so far, from restocking our in-center hygiene pantry and boutique where women can come in and leave with a bag full of products to help get them through the week, from soaps and shampoo, tampons to toothpaste, diapers to deodorant. Our boutique provides no cost clothing from everyday items to that all important clean suit or blazer for a job interview and hopefully a new beginning.

Our programming is full of opportunity and life changing information, the self sufficiency workshops guide women to make stronger financial decisions, have a deeper understanding of money management, how to improve a credit score, reduce bad debt, develop spreadsheets on accounting and when able, develop savings for a rainy day.

The EmpowHERment Entrepreneurial Academy continued this year, sharing business insight and development plans to a group of women who were committed to a 10 week program, helping them find the confidence and accruement to keep going and see with a newly evolved business plan, how they will succeed.

Our other programming will find offerings of yoga, therapy, meditation, networking with a purpose, grief support groups, veteran coffee mornings, and additional healing and wellness opportunities - All at no cost. We have had several Pop Up Events in New Port Richey, and new activities to come around Tampa.

I am deeply grateful to the rest of the board for coming together for the greater good, with their time and efforts, to the staff who make each day better for any women who walks through the center doors, to the volunteers, brand ambassadors, advisory committee and of course to Ambee for bringing us all together and building something bigger than each of its parts. You always make EmpowHERment your focus and drive. We are all in this together!

We rely on our community —whether through donations, sponsorships, or simply showing up. The HER Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need your support to make it a success. By attending, sponsoring, or even just spreading the word, you’re helping us ensure that the vital work we do continues.

Let’s celebrate our collective achievements and, together, fuel the future of EmpowHERment. Come and BE THE LIGHT - Get your tickets today or reach out to explore how you or your business can become a sponsor. This is your opportunity to make a tangible difference. Let's create a brighter future, one empowered woman at a time.

With gratitude and hope for what’s to come.
