Hurricane season is the perfect time to snuggle up and read a book. This week I have started the Swedish life of Lagom. The book encourages people to find balance in life and being content with "just enough" which is a Swedish mantra that they culturally follow. I have been wanting to read this one for a while since I saw it in a gift shop in Sweden about a year ago. Super excited to finally start it.
Anyone started any of the book club choices for the month?
Anyone interested in a free running clinic?
Hoping that everyone had a relaxing weekend.. what is everyone currently reading?
it's a new week with a fresh start, what will you be getting into this week?
Wanted to share about Fitlife after doing an event with them!
If you enjoy healthy, clean eating, but do not have the time to meal prep. Fitlife has tons of premade, healthy meals that change every day. I tried the hibachi and the Thanksgiving turkey, they both tasted like something you would get from a restaurant 10/10. each meal is a bit pricey but not any more than normal meal prepping or meal delivery services. Anyway, just wanted to share if anyone was looking for a local option
As a goal for 2024 I wanted to pick up more hobbies instead of scroll, and my latest venture has been sewing... although I've tried a few times in the past I've never made personal garments that actually looked good so it is exciting getting into that and honestly not as challenging as I thought. Sometimes at first when something is hard you give up because your brain immediately wants you to be great at it, but small progress feels so good when you see it.
This got me thinking.. what are some hobbies that you ladies have or want to try but you just haven't taken the leap yet?
Would anyone be interested if I went out and tried all kinds of new hobbies and reported back to the group every week?
What else should I try that you really enjoy?
For those who have started or already read "killers of the flower moon" here are a few questions about the book. If you have not started, feel free to go back and answer once you have read a few chapters.
Before starting "Killers of the Flower Moon," had you ever heard of the Osage murders? If so, how did you learn about it, and what did you know? Do you think this history should be taught in schools?
Author David Grann begins the book with a line describing the flowers spread over the Oklahoma hills where the Osage Indian nation resided ā and how those flowers break and die in May. How does this line set the tone, and introduce the subject, of the rest of the book?
The first character we meet is Mollie Burkhart, whose family becomes a main target of the Osage murders. How does Grann signalā¦
