About the Event

Come learn the fundamentals of computer literacy with our expert, Samantha Ramos!

This workshop is a 4-week course designed for 8 women dedicated to learning the primary functions behind computer literacy. Laptops are provided, though personal laptops are also welcome. Samantha will dive into the key pillars to understanding computer usage and jump start your journey to technological savviness. Open up more opportunities with a base knowledge of computer literacy. As there is only 8 openings available, this course is customized to fit your needs - join us and come with questions!

About Samantha Ramos:

Samantha is currently a Cyber Security Risk Manager at the Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute and has a Master of Science in Informtion Technology Management. Samantha has multiple years of experience in security consulting and helping organizations improve their cyber security posture. She began her career interning in the government sector and transitioned to working in the private and public sector after receiving her undergraduate degree in 2019. Samantha attended the University of Tampa and earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology with a minor in Cybersecurity. Samantha’s expertise focuses on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) functions including IT auditing, security policy lifecycle management, and risk management. She is currently studying for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), which she plans to take the exam for  in the fall. Samantha is a passionate and enthusiastic member of the technology community and serves on the Leadership Team for the Women in Technology International (WITI). She is an active member of several groups such as Tampa Devs, Young Entrepreneurs of America (YEA), and Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) and recently began hosting her own monthly IT Study Group. Samantha has also mentored several high school and college students aiming to enter the technology field and has assisted in teaching youth STEM programs. She has also spoken at and helped organize several industry conferences and will soon be appearing on various cyber security podcasts and speaking engagements in 2023. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys taking fitness and dance classes and hanging out with her two cats.
